The local students are interested in newly business relation between Canada and China

The Commercial Consul Mr. David Huabo Liu attended one social class, had the very interesting discussion,and to supply updated data on business relation between Canada and China with local students in June 13 2008, invited by Calgary Ecole St.Cecilia School.

The China and Canada: two big countries with very fast growing trade and business relation.

China is the largest developing country, while Canada is one of seven industrial powers in the world.

Established diplomatic relations on Oct.13, 1970. Since 1961, Canada has exported wheat to China.

According to Canada’s Statistics, Trade volume (export & import) about 150 million US$ in 1970. Trade volume reached 44.2 billion US$ in 2007, about 295 times compared to 1970’s.

Main export products to China from Canada in 2007:
Petrochemical products & Crude oil ( Ethylene glycol, sulphur, polymers of Ethylene); Wood pulp and lumber, potash, Parts and accessories of motor vehicle, Metals and ferrous and the waste metal ( nickel, copper waste, iron and stainless steel, aluminum); Agriculture and seafood products ( canola or colza seeds and oil, barley, frozen crabs, peas).

Main import products from China to Canada in 2007:
Desk or Laptop computers and parts, toys, video games, TV, cell-phone, recorders, cameras, seats and furniture, footwear/trousers and clothes, golf club and sport products, engines and machinery products.
